Barnier: time limit for backstop impossible

The European chief negotiator for the Brexit considers it unachievable to give the so-called 'backstop' a limited term.

The current arrangement for the backstop is very sensitive in British politics. It is bothering Brexiteers that the British will soon be unable to decide to unilaterally terminate the regulation. This actually means that the United Kingdom remains part of a customs union with the EU to find another way to keep the border open.
