Barber discriminates against women

A Belgian woman is angry that her hairdresser charges twice as much as for men.

Women pay according to the VTM news at almost all barber shops more than men, sometimes even twice more for a comparable haircut.

The federation of Belgian hairdressers says that the prices are not the same because men have had a huge price war. They work below the price and to make up for the loss, women pay more.

The Institute for Equality believes that there is discrimination on the basis of sex and that the difference in prices is in conflict with the Gender Act. '

Whether hairdressers are now obliged to lower their prices for women is still unclear.
