Balkan route is closed

The 'Balkan route' that last year more than one million refugees and migrants heading north followed a Western Europe, will close.

Slovenia will as of Wednesday strict rules apply to the Schengen area and only let even those with valid passports and visas inside. Serbia proposes to take similar measures to the southern border with Macedonia and Bulgaria. Croatia, which is in Serbia and Slovenia, the borders would also go as blocking, reported the Serbian Interior Ministry on Tuesday.

If these countries know their intentions to put into practice, the Balkan route is no longer an option for refugees who want to walk or drive from Greece to Germany.
