Australia sighs under a big heat wave

While the United States is suffering from extremely low temperatures, Australia is dealing with a large heat wave.

According to the emergency response service of the state, the high temperatures in combination with dry weather and strong wind ensure dangerous conditions. In parts of the country no fire can be lit at all.

The risk of forest fires is always present in Australia, due to the vast deserted areas, high temperatures in summer and the easily flammable eucalyptus forests.

In 2009, the most serious forest fires took place in the history of the country. When 173 people were killed, more than four hundred people were injured and thousands of homes were destroyed by the fires.
