Australia expands two Russian diplomats

Australia expels two Russian diplomats in response to the poisoning of a Russian ex-spy in Britain.

'Together with Britain and other allies and partners, Australia is taking steps in response to the recent nerve gas attack in Salisbury, England,' Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said in a statement.

'Two Russian diplomats who have been identified as intelligence officers will be expelled by the Australian government for work that does not correspond to their status under the terms of the Vienna Convention. Earlier, more than 100 Russian diplomats had been deported in countries in Europe and the United States.
