Auschwitz survivor Loridan-Ivens died

The French filmmaker and writer Marceline Loridan-Ivens died on Tuesday at the age of ninety.

Loridan is best known for her testimonies about the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp where she was transported to the Nazis at the beginning of 1944 as a fifteen-year-old girl. Loridan met Simone Veil (1927-2017) there. Veil became later as a lawyer, minister, president of the European Parliament and first president of the Shoah Remembrance Foundation one of the most famous French who continued to showcase the horrors in Auschwitz. Loridan has also done her life.

The French president Emmanuel Macron tweeted about her death that 'her testimony and life lesson' should not be forgotten.
