Artist Ai Weiwei next week in Netherlands

"Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei is next week in the Netherlands.

"Ai Weiwei lives and works in Berlin, after having not allowed to leave China for years. Formally, it was because his company would have a tax arrears of millions, but according to activists had to do with his critical comments on his blog and on the Chinese version of Twitter, Weibo."

"His experiences with the constant surveillance by the Chinese government were the basis for the exhibition he has composed for Foam. Ai Weiwei therefore feels related to the flow of refugees to Europe is trying to achieve. He has visited in recent months refugee camps in Syria, Turkey, Italy and France. In addition to sculptures and film will be at the museum from Thursday also see the thousands of photographs that he made in those camps.\n  \n    \n     \n      \n        0:48\n      \n     Harassment just goes on\n     \n     \n      \n        2:12\n      \n     Lessons paid in kind\n     \n     \n      \n        0:30\n      \n     Motorist escapes death"

"Ai Weiwei had more to do with foam. The museum posted last year a car with a sunroof to ask the public Lego blocks to collect the artist. He needed for an installation in Australia, but declined to LEGO blocks because it was a politically charged art. Then he was offered the building blocks from all over the world."
