Army is still invading Yemeni port

Soldiers supported by a coalition of Arab countries have invaded the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah.

The city is still in the hands of Houthi rebels and is an important port for the relief of relief goods for the ailing population of Yemen. The battle of the city is expected to be the largest in the three-year war between the coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the Iranian-backed Houthis.

Last week, the United Nations warned that the coalition should not attack the city. According to the UN, an attack on the city of 600,000 people would cause a new humanitarian crisis. The UN envoy for Yemen then tried to get the port under international control.
