Another deadly fire in high-rise Mumbai

At least four people were killed by a fire in the Indian metropolis Mumbai.

The fire broke out on the twelfth floor of the building. 'There was smoke everywhere and we heard people calling us, so we were running to the window,' a ten-year-old boy told the Hindustan Times newspaper. ' Later, firefighters brought us down. ''

The chief of the fire brigade in the metropolis said that a criminal investigation is being instituted. 'This building will be labeled as unsafe,' the official announced. 'The sprinkler system did not work at all. '' The fire was caused by a source due to a short circuit in the electrical wiring.

The city has recently been shaken by deadly fires repeatedly. For example, fourteen people were killed at the end of last year when a building with a roof restaurant partly went up in flames. Most of the victims were young women who celebrated a birthday party.
