Alberto opens hurricane season

In North America, the hurricane season was officially opened on Friday with the warning for Alberto.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami is now reporting wind speeds of 65 km / h but expects it to increase in the coming days. It is still unclear whether Alberto will get hurricane power.

'Heavy rainfall is to be expected on the Yucatan peninsula and in the west of Cuba', the NHC predicts. Florida and the north-east coast of the Gulf of Mexico should take into account nuisance during the weekend. Alberto seems to be heading for Mississippi and Alabama and can arrive there on Monday evening. Above land he will probably quickly weaken to tropical depression.
