Airport Tripoli reopens after fighting

Mitiga airport in the Libyan capital is accessible again for civil aviation after almost a week.

'All domestic and international flights have been resumed,' said one employee, who wanted to remain anonymous. 'No technical problems have been reported and the security situation is under control. 'The airport closed on Monday because of the battle between two rival groups. Then at least twenty people died and dozens of people were injured.

Airplanes also suffered damage as a result of the fighting. The passenger aircraft were hit by bullets or mortar grenades.
