Agreement on restoring water Damascus

The Syrian government and rebels in an area where there is a major water source, have reached an agreement on restoring the water supply.

It is about the sources of Wadi Barada, in the mountains northwest of Damascus. The source provides 70 percent of the population of the Syrian capital and near water, but since late last month unusable as a result of combat operations. This has led to major water shortages among an estimated five million people. Combatant parties have gegegeven each blamed the devastation in Wadi Barada.
