Agreement on Macedonia gets scribbled Sunday

Greece and Macedonia sign Sunday the agreement on a new name for the latter country.

Macedonia must in the future go through life as a Republic of Northern Macedonia. In both countries the agreement meets anger.

The conflict over the name dates back to 1991 when Macedonia peacefully separated from Yugoslavia and continued as the independent Republic of Macedonia. That fell badly in Greece, which itself has a historic region Macedonia.

The foreign ministers will sign the agreement in Prespes, a Greek region bordering Macedonia and Albania.
