Again thousands of Surinamese in protest

Again, thousands of Surinamese went up the street to express their anger on the policy of Desi Bouterse's government.

The activists had this time applied for a license to hold the demonstration. Last week, the absence of a license was a reason for the police to tackle action leaders. Not all actors agreed with the license application because they believe it is a fundamental right to protest.

The protests aim to force the government to pursue another policy so that the growing poverty is stopped. The financial crisis in the country has been caused by falling prices of commodities such as oil and gold, but corruption and bad financial management are the reasons.
