Again bloody confrontations at Gaza border gate

Israeli forces have shot seven Palestinians during new riots in the border between Gaza and Israel.

The Israeli army reports that about 14,000 Palestinians had gathered at the border. Protesters threw among others with stones and explosives.

An army spokesperson reports that an explosive went off at the border fence, after which about twenty people could climb through the hole. They then, according to the news site Times of Israel, rushed towards a position of the army, where soldiers opened fire. In addition, three approaching Palestinians would have been killed. The others could withdraw through the hole in the fence.

It has been restless for months at the border fence between Israel and the impoverished Palestinian coastal area. There is weekly demonstration by Palestinians. They demand, among other things, a right to return to areas that now belong to Israel. According to Palestinian sources, about two hundred people have already died in the protests.
