Afghan teenagers accused of dead German (22) in Köthen

The prosecutor completed the investigation six weeks after the death of a 22-year-old man in the East German town of Köthen and indicted two young Afghans.

The suspects of 17 and 18 years have been in custody since the incident, which led to right-wing extremist protest. They got into a fight with each other on 9 September. The later victim, a heart patient, tried to intervene to appease and was beaten in the face. He died of a heart attack.

In addition to several witness statements, the OM also assessed the data of the German's pacemaker. Further details from the research are not given.

The public prosecutor greatly appreciated the cooperation with the police and the judicial medical center. As a result, the cause of death could quickly be established. Initially it was thought that the accused were 18 and 20 years old, but the latter turned out to be 17.
