Advocaat Koppe unauthorized in the Khmer Bargain

The Dutch lawyer Victor Koppe was, according to the Cambodian Bar Association (BAKC), not authorized to act as a lawyer for the Khmer Rouge tribunal in Cambodia.

He defended Nuon Chea there, better known as Brother Number 2, who was sentenced to life for genocide during the bloody regime of Khmer leader Pol Pot. Koppe was dismissed by the UN-backed court in Cambodia, after the order had reported that he would no longer be registered as a lawyer in the Netherlands since 2016.
