Advisor Trump regrets swipe to Trudeau

A top advisor to US President Donald Trump regrets his fierce criticism of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Navarro said at a conference in Washington that he wanted to send a strong signal with the remark, but acknowledged that his language was 'inappropriate'. 'It was my fault, it was my words,' said the trade advisor. Trump had also pulled out to Prime Minister Trudeau, whom he called 'very unfair' and 'weak'.

The fierce criticism of the American president and his advisors at Trudeau led to much commotion in Canada. The Canadian leader had criticized the import duties of the Trump government after the G7 summit in his country. He called these charges 'insulting' and repeated that his country is taking countermeasures.
