Additional EU aid to Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon

The humanitarian situation is worsening every day in the countries around Lake Chad.

The money is primarily spent to provide displaced persons in Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon food and water. The amount comes on top of the 58 million of the region has been reserved this year.

Millions of people in the region fled the violence of the terrorist organization Boko Haram, which operates from northern Nigeria. The situation in that area is dramatic, says EU Commissioner Christos Stylianides (Humanitarian Aid) Thursday.
