A4 to The Hague again close weekend

The A4 motorway to The Hague has been closed between Burgerween and Leiden junction over the next three weekends.

Traffic from Amsterdam and Schiphol is diverted via Utrecht from Friday 21.00 to Monday 05.00. Motorists should take into account an extra travel time of one hour. Rijkswaterstaat strongly recommends traffic on the road, avoiding the A44.

In May and June, the asphalt towards Amsterdam was replaced. Now three more weekends follow the highway in the direction of The Hague. In favorable weather conditions, work will be completed on Monday, October 16 at 05.00.

Over the past two years, traffic on the A4 has increased by 5 percent. To reduce noise pollution, Rijkswaterstaat replaces the current asphalt between Roelofarendsveen and Hoogmade in both directions by two-layered soab (very open asphalt concrete).
