47-year-old British base jumper is killed in Dolomites

What should have been an adventurous leap, base jumper Robert Haggarty was fatal.

Haggarty was still able to open his parachute but then clapped on a steep cliff. He was instant dead.

The Brit was brought to the top of Monte Civetta in the Dolomites just before the accident with other base jumpers. The others saw the fatal leap of Haggarty happen and switched on emergency services. Because the mountains at Civetta are so steep, the emergency services had great difficulty in storing the body of the 47-year-old man, reports The Sun.
