4.5 years in prison for the thief Swedish crown jewels

A Swedish court sentenced a 22-year-old man to four and a half years' imprisonment for the theft of ancient crown jewels from Strängnäs Cathedral last year.

The crown jewels were stolen from the cathedral at the end of July 2018, about 70 kilometers west of Stockholm. These were funeral regalia, two crowns and a cone, from King Charles IX of Sweden, died in 1611, and his wife Queen Kristina. They have an estimated value of more than 6 million euros, but for the church they have a value that can not be expressed in money.
