300 dogs get syringe

Police forces in England and Wales have nearly five thousand dogs seized in the last three years.

Pitbull terriers, dogo argentino and Japanese tosa are among the varieties that are on a heavy list since 1991. British animal welfare organization RSPCA is not happy with the ban, partly because never would have proved that breeds like the pit bull terrier are more aggressive than other dogs.

The RSPCA advocates a change in the law, but which probably comes too late for many dogs. The police is preparing to leave three hundred confiscated animals euthanized in Greater London. According to the Corps is about dogs that may pose a danger to their environment.

Owners of 'illegal' dogs do their quadruped not always transfer to the police. The court may decide in 1997 that owners can keep the animals, there is evidence that the dog is not dangerous.
