24 killed by pesticides in pastry

Twenty-four people in Pakistan deceased after laddu, fried dough balls with sugar, had eaten that contained pesticides.

A man in the village Karor Lal Essan in Punjab had bought five kilos of sweet cakes to celebrate the birth of a grandson. Most victims are family of the man who was in critical condition in hospital and six brothers, lost a sister and two other family members.

A store clerk, according to police confessed that he had mixed the poison accidentally into the dough. The shop is closed and the two owners are included.
