A Brazilian federal judge, Rogério Favreto, has ordered that the former Brazilian president Luíz Inacio Lula da Silva be released. The leftist politician Lula da Silva has been detained in the city of Curituba since April, because he has been convicted for twelve years because of a corruption case called the triplex case. Lula accepted an apartment on the coast of the state of São Paulo as a gift from a construction company. The expensive apartment was actually a bribe from the company that wanted government assignments.
