MOSCOW - The Russian government expects Donald Trump better to talk about the future of Syria than with the current US president Barack Obama. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told Interfax news agency that the upcoming president has more room to negotiate.
Trump, according to the minister more 'leeway' because he has never claimed that the Syrian crisis can only be resolved if Bashar al-Assad step down. The Syrian leader is among others supported by Moscow. Gatilov stressed that no discussions take place between Moscow and the team of Trump.
