brussels - The 43-year-old Hicham D., a Belgian who arrested two police officers in the Brussels Schaerbeek in October 2016, must appear before the court. He is being prosecuted for attempted murder in a terrorist context, prohibited arms possession and 'armed rebellion'. That is what the federal parquet reports Thursday.

D. On 2 October, two agents attacked a knife. He stabbed the one in the neck, the other in the stomach. They were injured but not life-threatening. Colleagues could sense the ex-military, but one of them broke his nose. In his interrogation, D. explained a number of statements that were in the direction of a terrorist act. He also became known for contacts with extremist Muslims. He stated that his brother Aboubaker was a 'warrior' on which it was arrested. The brother has now been prosecuted.

According to D's lawyers, he had no terrorist motives. Hicham would be angry because he was arrested in 2011 by a federal police vehicle.
