abuja - The Nigerian authorities to airport capital Abuja closing six weeks. The runway finds danger in such bad condition that airline to suspend flights to the airport.

A unit of South African Airways hit earlier this year still damaged on landing, writing Nigerian media. Several companies have already put the knife in the number of flights to the capital.

The Department of Transportation now promises improvement and announces that the offending runway will be renovated next year. A German company is hired to do the job. The repair takes six months, but the airport needs according to the department to close just six weeks.

Travelers are dependent on the Kaduna airport, 160 kilometers to the north. Thus they otherwise can not escape the poor infrastructure in the country. The road between the airport and Abuja is full of holes.
