IS beheaded Russian officer

damascus - Islamic State has hijacked a Russian intelligence officer suspected of being captured in Syria. The execution can be seen on a video.

The SITE website in the United States shows the twelve minute movie. SITE is an organization that warns 'for the jihadist danger'. The website says that the beheaded Rus Jevgeni Petrenko is a colonel of Russian secret service. The Russian Ministry of Defense and the FSB Secret Service have not yet commented on the decapitation.

The man in the video wears the black dress of a parachutist. 'This idiot believed the promise of his country not to let him down if he was caught,' the officer said before being knotted with a knife. Where and when the execution took place, SITE is not known.

The Russians support the Syrian President Assad military since September 2015. According to Moscow, about thirty Russian soldiers have since been killed.
