marbella - The Spanish judiciary is investigating whether an uncle of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the 79-year-old Rifaat al-Assad, in Spain have laundered money for criminal gangs on the Costa del Sol. In the resort of Puerto Banus, near Marbella, is therefore a search done in the luxury condominium Gray Albion, Spanish media reported Tuesday.

Rifaat al-Assad has several things in Marbella. He travels there, surrounded by a bevy of bodyguards. It is not known where he is now. The survey has been running since December. There are fifteen conducted searches and accounts of sixteen people are locked as bills of more than seventy other entities.
