paris - French President François Hollande of the Socialist Party voted for the first round of presidential elections at 10.00. He did that in Tulle in his constituency in central France.

The newspaper Le Figaro reported that Hollande returned immediately after returning to Paris. He is not a candidate himself. In the polls, Hollande scored so low that he decided not to throw a re-election.

For the socialists Benoît Hamon is a candidate, but according to the polls he does not have a chance to continue to the second round on 7 May. Hamon voted at 10.00 in Trappes in the department of Yvelines, west of Paris.
