damascus - Thousands of people from four years of besieged towns in Syria Friday started their evacuation. The exodus is a result of agreements signed by the government of President Assad and rebel groups.

Civilians and combatants from two jihadists besieged places in northern Syria, al-Foua and Kafraya, began Friday on their way to government territory. They are driven out of the enclaves with dozens of buses. It is mainly about Shiites who were besieged by Sunni extremists.

Northwest of Damascus are now Sunni rebels and families began their evacuation from places Madaya and Al-Zabadani. The places by government forces and the Shiite Hezbollah militia encircled from nearby Lebanon since the summer of 2015. Observers of the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed Friday morning that the evacuees are moving.
