cairo - By a collision between two trains in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, according to the rescue services, 24 people were killed. There are more than 55 injured cases. It is feared that the death toll will still increase. The Ministry of Health spoke of 84 injured.
On internet images it can be seen that the single wagons of the train stations have been pushed together, others have been dropped out of the rails. There is little known about the crash near the Khorshid station. One train was from Cairo, the other from Port Saïd. Alexandria was the final destination.
Egypt is regularly frightened by serious railway accidents. In 2002, 360 passengers died in their coupés because a fire broke out.
