Canada: basic broadband service

ottawa - Canada has determined that broadband is a 'basic telecommunications service' '. All Canadians should have access to an Internet connection with a download speed of 50 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps' 'to participate in the digital economy.'

Besides setting minimum rates given the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission fixed broadband should offer an unlimited data connection.
