london - The House of Commons on Wednesday gave the green light for early elections. A large majority of MEPs backed the proposal of Prime Minister Theresa May to allow the elections take place next summer.
The outcome of the vote does not come as a surprise. Several opposition parties had already announced May to help the necessary votes. The prime minister said early elections were necessary because of the negotiations on the British withdrawal from the European Union.
