caracas - Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Friday declared the economic emergency for a period of sixty days. The state of emergency, according to his government needed because there,, an economic war against Venezuela conducted by rightwing and international circles '', reported media in Caracas.

The move, according to observers, not only because of the miserable state of the economy of the oil-rich South American country, but also a political weapon from Maduro. His left-wing PSUV party suffered a humiliating defeat in parliamentary elections on 6 December. Thereby lost the leftist forces that have kept their grip since 1999, the majority in parliament.
The center-right majority in the new parliament that took office in January, announced that Maduro's government should look away mid-year.
