Swiss parliament wants to ban burqa

bern - Switzerland is possible to prohibit the wearing of the burqa. The Parliament has agreed with Tuesday. Now the 26 cantons need to evaluate the plan of the nationalist Swiss People's Party (SVP). In Germany and Belgium it is already forbidden to wear face-covering clothing.

The proposal received 88 votes for and 87 votes against in parliament. Ten MPs present took no vote.

If the Swiss holding a referendum on a burqa ban would, according to polls, about 60 percent of voters vote for the ban.
