Microsoft tests flexibly 'touch cover'

redmond - Together with Swiss researchers Microsoft is working on a case for smart phones that can serve as a sort of touchscreen. In a demonstration video Microsoft itself speaks about an 'interactive cover 'or' Flex Case.

The thin and flexible cover captures the thinking of a flexible e-reader. The same e-inktechniek is therefore also applied in. Unlike e-readers the cases can respond to touch. In addition, the user can by bending give certain commands to a corner of the screen.

The researchers have now devised all sorts of useful functions for touchscreen case. So it can serve as extra keyboard, for example when entering PINs for online orders, or as a helper when copying and pasting text may serve as a case notebook.

It is unclear how far the developers have already been the case. Microsoft let there be nothing loose, so there is little to say about the time when the gadget is in production. According Tweakers Microsoft wants to show the prototype next month at the Computer Human Interaction conference. Perhaps more than clear about the project.
